BISS(Beihang International Summer School) / SPC(Sustainable Photonics Conference) 후기
2026.07.13~2026.07.26 까지 진행된 BISS와 SPC에 참가하게 되었습니다. 항저우에 있는 Beihang University에서 진행되었으며, 여름학교 중간에 학회 일정도 포함되어 있었습니다!
I participated in BISS and SPC, which took place from July 13 to July 26, 2026. It was held at Beihang University in Hangzhou, and the program even included a conference schedule right in the middle of the summer school!
저희가 지낸 기숙사와 학교 풍경 사진입니다. 우선 학교가 엄청 넓고, 풍경이 정말 예뻤습니다! 기숙사도 두 명이 쓰기엔 충분히 넓은 크기였으며, 시설도 너무나도 만족스러웠습니다. 날이 너무 더웠지만, 학교 내부 냉방과 기숙사 냉방도 자유로이 조절할 수 있어 다행이었습니다 ㅎㅎ.
Here are some photos of our dorm and the campus scenery. First of all, the campus is huge, and the views are absolutely beautiful! The dorm was more than spacious enough for two people, and the facilities were great as well. It was super hot outside, but thankfully we could freely control the AC inside the buildings and our room.
모든 학생들이 등록을 마친 다음 날부터 오프닝 세레모니와 저희 코스인 AI Photonics에 관련된 수업을 진행했습니다. 첫 주는 시간표가 짜여서 나오고, 둘쨰 주는 저희가 원하는 코스를 선택할 수 있습니다! 수업이 끝난 저녁엔 다른 나라, 다른 학교 친구들과 같이 운동도 진행할 수 있었습니다.
The day after everyone finished registration, we started off with an opening ceremony followed by lectures for our course, AI Photonics. The timetable for the first week was preset, while for the second week, we were able to choose the courses we wanted to take. In the evenings after class, we also got to play sports together with friends from different countries and universities.
AI Photonics에 관한 수업이 끝난 후에는 랜덤 그룹으로 그룹 프레젠테이션을 진행했습니다. 주제는 SPC에서 배운 내용이나 AI와 photonics의 연계에 관한 내용으로, 저희 조는 AI + Photonics에 관한 주제로 진행했습니다. “당연히” 저희 연구실 인원들이 참여했기 떄문에, 상장도 받아왔습니다 ㅎㅎ.
After finishing the AI Photonics lectures, we had a group presentation in randomly assigned teams. The topic was either on what we learned at SPC or on the integration of AI and photonics, so our team chose to present on AI + Photonics. “Naturally,” since members from our lab participated, we even came home with an award!
이 외에도 관광이나, 연구실 탐방등 다양한 활동들도 진행되었습니다! photonics라는 공통된 연구분야를 공부하고 있어서 그런지, 연구실 탐방 활동이 특히 인상적이었던 것 같습니다. 다음에 같이 연구하자고 wechat도 받아왔습니다. 이번 BISS가 좋은 트리거가 되었으면 좋겠네요!
On top of that, we had various other activities like sightseeing and lab tours. Since we all share a common research field in photonics, the lab tours were especially memorable. We even exchanged WeChat contacts and talked about collaborating in the future. I really hope this BISS trip serves as a great catalyst for us!
좋은 친구들과 여행도 함께 다닐 수 있어서 좋은 기회였습니다. 다음에도 참가할 수 있는 기회가 왔으면 좋겠네요! 같은 분야를 공부하는 스페인, 영국, 싱가포르, 카자흐스탄, 말레이시아, 러시아등 각국에서 온 친구들과 함께 시간을 보낼 수 있어 즐거웠습니다.
It was such a wonderful opportunity to travel around with great friends. I really hope I get another chance to participate in something like this again! Spending time with friends studying the same field from all over the world, including Spain, the UK, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, and Russia, was an absolute blast.
